BROMO TRIP 2019 - Part 2

In less than 3 hours of resting/sleeping, we need to make a move for the most tiring day. Phew. It was really hard...for me. YES, we need to get out at 1 AM to see the sunrise of the day at Bukit King Kong. We're going there with Mas Budi but we're getting on a jeep for today, so we have other driver for the jeep, Mas Henry.

Pit stop to buy ticket and waiting for few minutes before starting our journey...

Looks like Mas Henry drive quite fast here but it was just okay actually.

Throughout the journey, Mas Budi asked us to get some sleep but looking at the video, can you even sleep? Haha. But he told us, some people can sleep peacefully even though the road....is not an easy one, trust me. Maybe because of the route itself and the condition in the jeep is not that comfortable so that's why.

But, one thing that I can't forget is the view of some jeeps going through the route together. They comes in different vibrant colors which looks cute, looking at them like racing each other to go to the place like in an arcade game, I could say. I love racing games so yeah, it's cute for me XD

This is the kind of jeep that we're riding to see the sunrise.

We arrived at the area to see sunrise around 3.30AM if i'm not mistaken. Mas Henry park the jeep somewhere beside the road. It was freezing cause it's raining and the wind was so strong. So people, prepare your winter jacket here! - as reminded by our tour guide.

I thought we still need to do some hiking to go up so I started to feel nervous if I can make it or not, weirdly Mas Budi bring us to one of the stall which has been fixed along the route. After we walk for like 3 minutes from the jeep, we can reach the stall where we can order food and drinks.

So this is the route, with places to chill left and right, souvenirs stall and etc.

Sleepy me were kinda confused, what are we doing here chilling, why not hiking? but yeah, I just go with the flow since we pay them to guide us, hahaha. Electricity is not stable here so when there's light.....

without light....

which most of the time is like this while waiting for the sun to rise...

I thought Mas Budi was preparing us to hike by eating light breakfast - fried banana and tempe. I believe most of us don't have any appetite to eat but kinda force ourself to eat some. While eating and waiting for I don't know what it is, Mas Budi is sleeping beside us. I'm still wondering, what are we doing here for nothing...until 4AM some of us started to move around buying gloves, went to toilet and perform Fajr which both are located beside the stall. The water is hellish freezing, prepare yourself, people. haha. But because of that, I feel less cold after I took the wudu, which is good!

Mbak who prepare us the drinks and fried snacks.

Our savior of the day!

Not long after that, the sky is getting brighter so people are moving to see the sunrise. Actually the place that we're going to is just at the end of the route which is 1 minute away from the stall. I was like...whattt anyway it's good that we don't need to hike. But too bad, no sunrise. It was foggy all the way because of the rain and it's still raining at that time.

where's the most awaited sunrise? ㅠㅠ

Photo time!

Not sure but this photo have the korean vibes..haha

After done with photos, more eating and chilling, we decided to move to our next location.

Going back to the jeep

Our condition in the jeep, total of 7 people inside. 3 in front and 4 at the back.

After few minutes in the jeep we arrived to our next destination which is Bukit Widodaren. Spectacular view, it is! Eventhough it was so cold, windy and too foggy.

We spent quite some time over here for more photos.

Next, we're going to see Bromo Crater or know as Kawah Bromo
FYI, this mount is an active volcano. Alhamdulillah nothing bad happens. Once we arrived there, there are some people who came to us with their horses.

To reach the crater, is takes around 40 minutes -1 hour of walking and to go up climbing the long stairs, or maybe more than that. So they have a service where you can ride a horse which will take around 20 minutes to go up.

At first we decided to just walk cause the fee to ride the horse is quite expensive. Not sure how much was it. But then we manage to kawtim with them and get cheaper price which cost us IDR100,000 around RM30 or so.

Me too, at first I thought 'oh ya why don't we do some walking and get fit' lol but once I see the horse in front of me, I get excited. Riding a horse is one of my lifetime wishlist so why not I take the chance to cross it at that time and yes, Alhamdulillah I did it! We did it!

It was soooooooooooo fun. There are times when the route is going down and going up. I felt a little scared especially when the horse is going down, and when they walk fast! Anyway, it was a very nice experience. Note : the horse riding fee is not included in the package.

Going up to see the crater

We need to climb this stairs to exactly see the inside of the crater. It's quite high. I tried to climb it but not even half, I gotta give up. I was short of breath, maybe because of the high altitude and during that time it was so windy and the sulphur smell is too strong to handle. The wind with sulphur smell make my eyes painful and teary. So I decided to go down and take some rest together with Kakcik and Mas Budi. Meanwhile the other guys manage to go up but they can't see much cause it was too foggy at the top..

Next, another photo time.

At this point, it was still safe. But once in a while the sulphur wind came, I need to cover my face with mask. Note : bring mask before coming here, you really need it!

We don't spend much time here. After took some photos, we go back down by riding the same horse again and the view MasyaAllah....I'm in love.

One with the horse back 💕

one with Mas Budi

Next, our last pit stop is Bukit Teletubbies.

Been surrounded by green mountains 💗

This hill is called as Bukit (Hill) Teletubbies cause it looks like one...some part of it. Lastly, before we go back to Kota Malang, we stop by at this small pondok called Pondok Cinta (Cottage of Love) if i'm not mistaken - . Just a small, unfinished house, I heard.

We're done with everything quite late. It was past lunch time. But instead of feeling hungry, we were super sleepy and tired. Once we got down, we changed back to our van and go and have our lunch at this local restaurant.

They specialize in Sup Rawon which is Beef Soup. It comes with white rice and they also provide raw baby bean sprout and sambal too. It will taste the best if you combine everything (white rice, beef, sambal and the crunchy baby bean sprout). Enjoy the clip taken from Kakcik's Igstory.

If you can see the orange plate, that was given to all customers no matter what you order. They gave fried tempe, begedil (savory potato ball), fried brinjal, fried spicy cow lungs, perut lembu, etc.

The rule is, it will be charged if you eat any of it. If you don't, they will not charge. Like nasi padang style, if you eat the side dishes that they put on your table, they will charge them in your bill, else they won't.

Weirdly, no matter how tired we were, we finished the meal. It could be either the food was delicious, or we were actually very hungry at that time. Haha. But yes this Sup Rawon was lit. Then, around 4 PM, we went back to the hotel to take some rest.

Since it was our last day in Kota Malang, we decided to have our last dinner together with Mas Budi and especially in that city itself.

It's a kind of hipster cafe that serves western and local food too. The ambiance was sooo nice and the waiter was so friendly too.

Fancy drinks. The mango smoothie was really good!

Cheezy chicken pop was also good and some other food which I don't have the photo with me.

The city doesn't have much to offer during the night time since most of the shop are closing as early as 10 PM except for some bars. So we just go to our hotel to take more rest after dinner. Starting from the next day it will be relaxing soooo.......

I'll see you on the next post!
